The end is even closer!

Just an addition to the previous post:

The harem is back and better than ever (whether I want it to be or not)...

Ever since Dave's letdown, I have had more fun than I have with boys in forever. Well, maybe I had this much when I went back to school for senior year of college, all single and leaving Hartford behind. Hung out with Craig and Jay on Christmas Eve, and ended up hooking up with Craig. And, it was GREAT! He's an awesome kisser, which is SO important to me. Plus, he doesn't want anything more than it is (which is also faboo). Whatever happens will happen, but there is no pressure.

Costa and I are talking again (I missed him). Hanging out with him tonight to celebrate his test taking this afternoon.

Adam (JDate guy) and I are slowly taking steps to actually meeting one day. He's so cute!

Harem, assemble! Who wants to join?

Ah, the end is near

Once again the end of the year is upon us, so I must reflect on the good and bad of the year:

First, the bad (get it out of the way):
  • Za going AWOL
  • North Merrick going AWOL
  • Uncle Sid dying
  • Robyn moving
  • Costa getting too attached
  • Dave going AWOL
  • finding out that Curves was sold to new owners
Now the good:
  • Friends who were there for me during the Za/North Merrick/Dave incidents
  • meeting Robyn and drinking lots of wine with her
  • new and better paying job
  • Mom getting new and better paying job with Ellen
  • FINALLY hooking up with Costa
  • having an orgasm through BREATHING
  • becoming better friends with Lisa, Fran and Michelle
  • going to Villanova with Christine and learning all about African/Latin American dancing and drumming
  • Harry Potter
  • 311 two times in one year
  • Seeing Dave M and knowing that he's as big as a house
  • Scavenger hunt in Long Beach
  • meeting the new owners of Curves and liking them
  • realizing what I definitely want (and don't want) from a relationship
Though the bad list is much shorter than the good, I hope to have a better year next year than I did this. The beginning of this year was especially hard due to the double whammy of Za and North Merrick within a month of each other. The end of this year also delivered a bit of a blindside from Dave. I will be starting the new year in a different mindset than I did last year. I am single, in a job I love, surrounded by friends who love me for me. Who knows what will happen between now and next year. That's the beauty of life. It's unpredictable!

What a week!

As usual, I meet a guy who seems normal, and he's really nuts!

The guy that Kerry and Stan set me up with turned out to be another dud. After spending three great dates that lasted for hours on end, he decided to completely blind side me with this: last year he was engaged (which I knew thanks to K&S) and apparently they broke up around this time of year. So, last year, the holidays were rough (understood). This year, however, he is also getting into a funk, and decided that even though we were having a great time, and all things were clicking, he didn't "want to be in anything during the holidays". Okaaaaaay....

So, where does it leave me? He made it seem like this was it, and that because of the holidays coming up, that he had made his mind up that I wasn't right for him right now. I honestly don't think he will call (and if he does what I will say). I am the eternal pessimist. Everyone I know, however, is an optimist, and thinks he will call. I actually have a bet with Lisa on whether or not he will call. Dinner at Sakana is riding on it, so no matter what happens, it will be awesome! When is sushi at Sakana ever bad???

Costa called today while I was at brunch with Jean, Katie, Teresa and Kelly (Jean's brother's gf). Got a little worried, but it turned out to be nothing. He just wants to carpool to Liz and Alex's on New Years.

ALSO this weekend I went to see Craig's show. His band PITABUTTERITO (yeah, that is the name) was awesome! They just do acoustic cover songs, with some original songs too. Fran and her friend Susan came (all of us were having boy issues), but then went to Bell Blvd to hit the bars there. I stayed and hung out with Craig, Jay and Robert (the other guy in PB). Here's the thing: I have liked Craig ever since I met him, but I'm not too sure if he likes me (I know I sound like a thirteen year old girl). I get the feeling he is sending me a vibe, but I just think that it's just the way he is. Plus, there's the whole Landmark thing. I definitely don't want to join or go to anything Landmark, and I feel like everyone involved in it tries to shove it down my throat. I don't know what to do about it...

I am taking a break from penis for a while. No boys for a while will do me some good...

Update

Haven't been on for a while so let's update...

New job: fabulous position in Great Neck at four different elementary schools. I love being in four schools; really give you a feel for the whole district. All of the people I work with are uber-nice, and the kids, for the most part, are great. Plus, the money is better than N.M., so I am definitely happier here than there.

Prospective boy? Went out with a great guy that Kerry and Stan (my personal matchmakers) set me up with. He's very nice, tall, Jewish (!!!), great kisser...shares a lot of similar quirks with me (love of crunchy cereal, keeping quasi-kosher when eating out). Very nice...

Friends are good. Teresa has a new job promoting shows at the TKTS booth, Liz is chilling at CNN still, Alex got a new job ("Corporate accounts payable, Nina speaking. Just a moment!"), Tina is doing well in her first year of teaching, Ron FINALLY got a full time job at UPS, Robyn unfortunately moved to NC...I miss her soooo much. Thanks goodness for cell phones and computers!

The family is okay. My Uncle Sid died before the holidays, so that was hard for my cousins, but Leah gave birth to Lexie. Beth (not legally family, but close enough) is due in February!!! I think it's going to be a boy. Jonathan and Melany are off at college (with the survival kit Mark and I sent them). Mom's working for Ellen and having a lot less stress...all things are good for now...

Probably won't post in a while (just because I forget to, and honestly if people want to find out how I am, they can call me!)...
